These two re-interpretations are presented on special fabric straps designed and manufactured expressly for professional divers’ use.
With enhanced functionality to the 1970 Diver's Watch, this line all uses the consistent 6R35 movement; which is being used also in many high-quality . This remake series is another elegant presentation by Seiko for rewarding the Seiko fans and satisfying our craving for the iconic "Captain Willard" taste. The watches are powered by the tried and trusted Caliber 6R35 that delivers a power reserve of 70 hours and are 200m water-resistant. The curved sapphire crystal is treated with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, and the indexes, hour, minute and seconds hands are coated with Lumibrite of an especially faded vintage colour matching the earthy tones of the dial and straps.

The fabric straps incorporate a traditional braiding technique from Japan called Seichu. Their rich texture and colour complexion are familiar in Japanese culture for their use in fabric designs, as seen in a traditional “obijime,” the decorative cord that holds a Kimono sash in its place.
The straps present a uniquely Japanese aesthetic and texture and are specially manufactured to have a tensile strength nearly four times that of regular Seiko fabric straps*. Their strength and resistance to degradation caused by exposure to sunlight, meet the demanding standards of Seiko’s diver’s watches and are perfect for use underwater. In addition, thanks to its unique braiding pattern, the straps have the flexibility and air permeability that ensure maximum comfort on the wrist.
